What we collect, why, and how to get it deleted

Last updated: 10 September 2026

This policy describes what codetrappers.com actually does with your data. Where it names a company, that company genuinely receives something. If you find anything here that does not match what the site does, please tell us and we will correct it.

1. Who we are

CodeTrappers is the controller of the personal data described here. We are a WordPress engineering studio at SJR Koramangala, Plot 36, 1st Floor, Sony World Signal, 100 Feet Rd, Bangalore, Karnataka 560095, India. For anything in this policy, write to mail@codetrappers.com.

2. What we collect

What you send us. When you use our contact form we receive your name, your company, your email address, your phone number where you give one, your indicated budget, and whatever you write in the message.

Alongside that submission we also record the IP address it came from, the page that referred you, and a spam score with the reasons behind it. That combination is what lets us tell a real enquiry from an automated one, and it is the only reason we keep it.

What our servers record. Like almost every website, our hosting and our CDN keep access logs containing IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs and browser user agent strings. These are ordinary operational records used for security and diagnosis.

What our assistant does. The “Ask anything” assistant sends your question, together with passages from our own published pages, to Anthropic so that a reply can be generated. We do not store your questions. What we keep is a count of how many questions have been asked, and a short-lived rate-limiting record keyed to an irreversible hash of your IP address and browser, so that one visitor cannot flood the service. Please do not type confidential information into it.

What analytics and advertising collect. Nothing at all unless you accept them on the cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy for the specific cookies and how to change your mind.

3. Why we use it, and on what basis

Purpose Data Basis
Replying to an enquiry and quoting for work What you sent us Steps taken at your request before entering a contract
Blocking spam and abuse of our forms IP address, referrer, spam score Our legitimate interest in a usable inbox
Keeping the site available and secure Server and CDN logs Our legitimate interest in operating the site
Answering questions through the assistant The question you type Our legitimate interest in answering you, at your request
Understanding how the site is used Analytics cookies Your consent
Measuring which adverts lead to enquiries Advertising cookies Your consent

Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time, using the button at the foot of our Cookie Policy. Withdrawing does not affect anything done before you withdrew.

4. Who else receives it

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. These are the companies that process some of it on our behalf, and what each one receives:

Who What they receive Why
Anthropic Questions typed into our assistant, plus passages from our own pages Generating the reply
Cloudflare All traffic to the site, as our CDN and security proxy; contact form submissions pass its Turnstile bot check Delivery, protection against attacks and form abuse
Google Analytics and advertising data, but only after you accept those categories Measuring site usage and advert effectiveness
Our hosting provider Everything stored on the site, plus server logs and outgoing email Running the site and delivering our replies

Our footer carries links that ask an AI assistant about us. Following one takes you to that company, where their policy applies rather than ours, and nothing is sent to them unless you click.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

5. Where your data goes

We are in India, and the companies above operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your own country, including in the United States. Where that involves personal data of people in the UK or the European Economic Area, those transfers rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as we need them to answer you, to carry out any work that follows, and to meet our accounting and legal obligations afterwards. Server and CDN logs are short-lived and rotate automatically. Analytics and advertising data is retained under Google’s own retention settings, described in their policy.

If you want your enquiry deleted sooner, ask us and we will do it.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask us for a copy of what we hold, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent you have given. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, email mail@codetrappers.com. We will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, which is a safeguard for you rather than an obstacle.

8. Security

The site runs over HTTPS, sits behind Cloudflare, and administrative access is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something, but we treat the data you send us as data we would want handled carefully ourselves.

9. Children

This is a business-to-business site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we add a tool that receives your data, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Where the change affects something you consented to, the banner asks again rather than assuming your previous answer still applies.

11. Contact
